Violump - Joachim Johow

Hello and welcome to my homepage with many older compositions, the pieces of the last year are on Facebook page.

I am a composer and music enthusiast living in Berlin, Germany. On my website you will find a lot of music for beginners and advanced players alike, ranging over many different instruments. Having a fondness for rounds, especially those by Pachelbel, I have by now written 100 of them in different styles and levels of difficulty. You might also want to take a look at my Grand Canon series for piano, bass and either a flute, violin or clarinet – maybe something to try out with talented students or musical friends.

For the dedicated pianist there are by now 10 books, each containing 20 compositions that form a kind of musical sketchbook.

Having taught as a music teacher and also conducted a school music ensemble I am always keen on writing compositions for school orchestras

and other orchestra ensembles – here you will find several styles such as Klezmer music, Irish Tunes or South American music.

Some compositions with a more fanciful touch include my fairytale suites (Sindbad or Leila) or the Folk music suites of the Fiddler Seasons.

As you have probably guessed a lot of my time is devoted to composing, playing and talking about music, however I also enjoy reading books, particularly fairy-tales and fantasy, painting, bicycling, movies and watching theatre plays.

I play the violin in a string orchestra as well as in my folk ensemble in Berlin, called I felici (www.Ifelici.de). We have a wide repertoire ranging over Klezmer, Tangos, Swing, Irish Folk and also my own compositions. I enjoy music from many different backgrounds and eras, however among my favorite composers I count Bach, Schubert, Mozart and Beethoven.

If you have any questions or suggestions for me feel free to contact me via e-mail and I will do my best to help you.

While most of my music sheets are free, donations are greatly appreciated and allow me to keep doing what I love.

I wish all musicians and listeners alike continuing joy in music.

With best wishes, Joachim Johow

Hallo und herzlich willkommen auf meiner Homepage

Biographie:
